Henry Clay’s Home (Ashland)

Ashland, the home of Henry Clay, a Kentucky politician during the 19th century, sits on a large piece of land.  The site consists of a large mansion, a walled-in garden, and several out buildings, including ice houses.  Since I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, I have known this site all my life.  As a kid, I enjoyed going through the mansion and seeing all the old furniture and learning about history.  The ice houses are the best out buildings because…
